Application Description
Logistics & Inventory Management System is a web application developed for CitiBank, Las Vegas . It creates a central data repository and allows remote management for both Citibank staffs and its key Suppliers. Features include PO Generation, Internal Movement Orders and Inventory Tracking. The application keeps track of inventories and prompts the users to order the optimal quantities to achieve both stock and cost efficiency. The Inventory Tracking feature manages the receipt of items, space location, transfer, internal movement and final delivery using PocketPC Barcode Scanning & Docking devices. Both FIFO & RUNTS (prioritization logic used to decide the skids & lots that are best suited for fulfilling an internal movement order) methods are supported for order fulfillment. The application has several real-time reports such as active and in-transit inventory, inventory forecasting, orders and prices history, and monthly management reports. It also provides user-friendly interface to generate unlimited customizable ad-hoc reports using Crystal Report software.
Technologies used
The application was developed using Microsoft IIS, ASP and COM technologies with SQL server 2000 as database and supports Microsoft PocketPC and barcode scanner devices.
