SilkRoad Vietnam Ltd Awarded CMM Level 3 Rating
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, April 2, 2004: SilkRoad (V) Limited has been
awarded the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity
Model (CMM) Level 3 rating.
The Capability Maturity Model for Software (CMM) is a framework that
demonstrates the key elements of an effective software process. CMM
is universally recognized standard in the software industry. Companies
compliant with Level 3 have an effective software development processes
that ensures the software is built according to the requirements of
the client and is delivered on time and within budget.
The assessment was conducted in accordance with the SEI's CMM Assessment
Framework and confirmed compliance with thirteen software development
Key Process Areas (KPAs) that cover the 37 goals and 229 key practices
of the CMM Level 3. The assessment was led by Mr. Paul Iredale, Head
of Process Improvement and Quality Assurance at Reuters and Mr. Narishchandrar
Singh, Head of Global Quality Services at DHL. Paul is one of the leading
assessors in the world with more than 20 years experience. The team
assessed 55% of the software development group and confirmed the institutionalization
of CMM Level 3 throughout the company. In particular the team highlighted
process focus, process technology and 'use case driven' engineering
as organizational strengths.
